I lost count of the number of nights I spent at Five Giants, that's how much it felt like a home base. :))) Months beforehand I had arranged to rent my Suzuki 150 motorbike from Karakoram Bikers who also owned this guesthouse, hidden in the small streets of Danyor, a suburb-village of Gilgit. From the start I was very happy with the clear and accurate communication from Liz and Shah, and this continued throughout my entire journey of 2 months. No question remained unanswered, nothing was ever an issue, concerning the bike, the lodging, the food, or any other matter. Always friendly and ready to help. The guesthouse is well-tended, spacious, and the two outgoing cheerful local women Meena and Shahin provided homemade fresh meals whenever wanted. The shady garden with flowers, herbs, fruit trees, charpoys and hammocks is a delight to chill. Also Ali and Arjan, the staff boys, were always ready to get whatever we needed. I stayed with then on my own, and later with my friends. We are three women motorbikers, two from Belgium and one from Germany, crisscrossing the North of Pakistan.
